artefact

Today we finished off our masks that we have been creating. I found the process quite easy to make but at times found it very frustrating because at times you could get your fingers in a twist. Mine didn't come out the way I planned and designed it but it's a good thing that it hasn't gone the way I planned and designed because it's come out scarier than originally  designed. I changed the design because my orginal one didn't really look like the beast from beauty and the beast, I also changed it because if I did my other design I would of had to have a lot more time cause of painting different colours on the main colours.
My weakness's of the mask was the thickness of the paper mache, it was really thin it ripped, my other weakness was not letting the paint try and it running into the different colours. My strength's were I managed to finish my mask even though I missed the first lesson of it, my other strength was the mask was the right size so it could easily fit around someone's head without a struggle.
If we was going to make it again, I would change a few things one of them would be the strength of the mask so it doesn't rip when I was taking it off the template mask, I would also of let the paint dry then paint over with a different colour. I would also spend more time on the horns, instead of rushing straight into painting them.
I enjoyed making masks because it gave us a different experiance on artefacts,  and found its alot more than just reading and writing about them.
