artefact
Today we finished off our masks that we have been creating. I found the process quite easy to make but at times found it very frustrating because at times you could get your fingers in a twist. Mine didn't come out the way I planned and designed it but it's a good thing that it hasn't gone the way I planned and designed because it's come out scarier than originally designed. I changed the design because my orginal one didn't really look like the beast from beauty and the beast, I also changed it because if I did my other design I would of had to have a lot more time cause of painting different colours on the main colours.
My weakness's of the mask was the thickness of the paper mache, it was really thin it ripped, my other weakness was not letting the paint try and it running into the different colours. My strength's were I managed to finish my mask even though I missed the first lesson of it, my other strength was the mask was the right size so it could easily fit around someone's head without a struggle.
If we was going to make it again, I would change a few things one of them would be the strength of the mask so it doesn't rip when I was taking it off the template mask, I would also of let the paint dry then paint over with a different colour. I would also spend more time on the horns, instead of rushing straight into painting them.
I enjoyed making masks because it gave us a different experiance on artefacts, and found its alot more than just reading and writing about them.

Casino Royal production
On the 26th November 2010 we watched this play thing from the older years in college, the level 3 diploma students studying theatre, It was IMENCE :), i loved it.
Im not just saying that, I generally found the performance amazing. When I walked in the room and saw the set, I was feeling mixed motions, cause it looked very american, and hard to pull of a good performance, but after watching it I was really shocked, it looked actually like something off West end.
The dancing inspired me a lot, but didn't really no where to look in some of the dances.
Overall it did inspire and astonish me how it all went right and thought they did very good, cause there was loads of dance moves, words to remember and a lot of singing.
I liked how they took it to different parts of the country, as in Bollywood and India, and done impressions of people eg: Mr Bean. Mr Bean was such a good actor he really did know how to play Mr Bean especially with the facial expressions.
I loved they included the audience, it made you feel like you were there.
The man which kept coming on and being the host was fabulous because he was very confident and had a lot more to remember because a lot more words, and was a dancer and singer.
It made the girls be a bit confused where to look in some dances, but the boys were just drooling, but whatever gender you were you were still blown away.
The show included a lot different style of songs like "hey big spender" by Shirley Bassey, "money" by Abba and "Diamonds are a girls best friend" by Marilyn Monroe, "Mr bombastic" by Shaggy, the can-can and Indian dance and this illusion dance.
The illusion dance was completely different to all the over dances but it was funky how everything went dark apart from their masks, hands and the spiny things.
Overall the performance was very enjoyable, and like a West end performance, I think the level 3 diploma students should have a very high grade.

Evaluation of culture show camera work.
we've been learning about all the different things to do with the camera, editing, filming, and uploading to youtube.
We learned about the buttons on the camera, theres one button that tells you to either be manual exposure or auto exposure. We also learned another button which is called the Pmenu, when you press this it shows you the white balance.
We also learned some new techniqual terms for the camera like Composition which means the placement of objects in the frame.
Another thing which we done towards the camera was learning about Rule of thirds. Rule of thirds is when you equally square the picture into 9 squares.

Cultural cafe performance :]
On the 24th September in Stratford Upon Avon College, we had some visitors from China to do some performances in the Cultural cafe. We watched some Yao musical performance, which included singing and this thing with this pole, they wrestled and flipped, then got a few people out of the audience to join in with what they were doing, they pushed each other, and it showed how strong the chinese people were because one of the boys from the audience went straight into the wall.
The audience looked quite shocked when the chinese lads did the flips over each other because everyone shouted 'woo' and was clapping. It also shocked people when the chinese lad pushed one of the college kid into the wall cause of the strength the chinese lad. At first when they got the pole, the audience looked a bit confused to what they were doing. You could tell on the audience face they enjoyed it cause afterwards everyone had a smile on their face.
They came over to Stratford upon Avon to show the students more about their culture. They achieved it quite a lot because there was a lot of students and teachers in there watching and clapping with smiles on their face, also everyone listened to their singing so it showed us what they sing about in their culture. It showed us a new type of sport which they do over in China, which the audience looked interested in.
I thought the singing was a bit weird because i didn't quite get what the chinese students were singing, but the bit with the pole interested me because I liked how things like flips and pushing and acrobatics were included with a pole. The emotion showed aggressive which i thought really linked, to the pushing. The solo singing was good I thought because singing by yourself in a different language which your audience doesn't know was brave.
